Protecting Birth Across Borders
A global alliance for gentle birth, waterbirth, physiological wisdom, and humanized maternity care
Across countries, cultures, and birth settings, birth professionals and advocates are carrying the same hope: that birth can be safer, kinder, more respectful, more connected, and more human.
Global Birth Guardians was created as a shared space where doulas, doctors, midwives, nurses, educators, waterbirth advocates, birth centers, hospital leaders, organizations, researchers, and community birth workers can come together in conversation, collaboration, friendship, and support.
This is not about replacing existing communities. It is about connecting them.
Global Birth Guardians is being founded by Caridad Saenz, Birth Guardian, doula, educator, author, and community builder based in Dubai.
The founding vision is supported by Barbara Harper, global waterbirth educator and founder of Waterbirth International, whose work has inspired generations of waterbirth and gentle birth advocacy around the world.
Global Birth Guardians honors the communities already doing this work — including Birth Guardians Egypt, Doulas of Dubai, Doulas of Lebanon, and many more. Each community remains rooted in its own culture and work. The global circle simply connects us.

We are beginning with a Founding Circle and growing step by step into a global community for connection, education, and shared support.
Birth is changing around the world. Families are asking for dignity, emotional safety, respectful choices, and humanity inside maternity systems.
At the same time, birth professionals are working across complex systems and often carrying this work in isolation. Global Birth Guardians exists so those protecting birth can find one another
